Brief History learn about the history of the clans For many moons after Firestar left, SkyClan flourished. Even after the death of Leafstar the clan continued on until no cat remembered how their clan had been rebuilt. All they knew were the legends of the fire pelted tom, and story of how their clan had once been driven out of their forest territory only to die out and disperse through the land that they now called their home. It was at this time that the twolegs began moving in on SkyClan territory. They brought in large monsters, cutting down many of the trees and moving closer and closer to SkyClan camp. At fist, Ruddstar was hesitant to do anything about it, he hoped that the twolegs and their monsters would leave. Many warriors urged that their leader lead the clan to a new territory, they had already lost much land, the monsters were scaring away the prey that remained, and countless cats had been snatched by the twolegs if they got too close. But in his age, Ruddstar was becoming delusional, he was loosing any sense he had. The old tom refused to move, he stated that the clan would not leave, that they would stay here even if they all died because of it. Ruddstar would even snap, becoming aggressive with anyone who believed the clan should move. During the dead of leafbare, with many cats malnourished and on the verge of starvation, Ruddstar lost his last life. His deputy Bouldernose was left to lead the clan, feeling the weight and pressure of his clans survival on his shoulders. Eventually, the stocky tom made the decision to move his clan several weeks after receiving his nine lives from StarClan. While much of his clan was weak, new leaf was just around the corner and they would soon have new prey to fill their bellies and become stronger on. The clans traveled for over a moon in search of a place to settle. Along the way, they intrigued many rouges and loners with talk of clan life. Many decided to follow, SkyClan almost tripled in size before they finally reached a patch of land just off a busy Thunder Path. While much of the land was uninhabitable for many SkyClan members, a wide wetland was to the east, and a forest full of thick underbrush inhabited the west. However, a particular patch covered in tall trees and very litter undergrowth, the perfect home for the remaining members of SkyClan. The clan thrived for several moons after reaching their new territory, they even found a new place to interact with their warrior ancestors. They taught their new clanmates of the life of clan, two cats in particular were intrigued. A young, ambitious tom by the name Thorn, and a small aging she-cat known as Rain. They watched as the giant clan brought in just enough prey for their members, and saw the uninhabited territory surrounding them going unused. Each had the same idea, and acted upon it as one. One bright green leaf day, just as the entire clan was gathered in camp sharing tongues, Rain and Thorn saw an opportunity, and seized it. They both stood in front of the clan and exclaimed "Even in Greenleaf there is hardly enough prey to feed the whole clan! What will happen what they prey disappears in leafbare? We will all starve! There are territories that are uninhabited with perfectly good prey! That is why we wish to break off and form our own clans in each patch of land. All those sure foot in thick underbrush, able to see and hunt in even the darkest of forests, follow Thorn. And all those who are able to easily make a living in the wetlands, hunting for fish and prey along the edges of the water, follow Rain." At first, Boulderstar was outraged, he could not believe the audacity of these two cats. But soon realized that they did have a point. He could see that much of his clan was only just scraping by, and that they would all do much better if they possessed more land, but all three territories was too much for a single clan to handle. Even he accepted that if they were to all survive, the clans would have to become three. That night, both Rain and Thorn lead their new clans to their new territories, both stopping at the moonstone after their clan got settled into their camps, the new leaders made their way to Shimmer Stones, hoping that StarClan would accept their newly formed clans. Although their was slight tension in StarClan that night, several not wishing to introduce new clans, especially ones lead by cats not born in the clans. But eventually, they came to accept the new clans, giving the leaders the names Rainstar and Thornstar. Their new clans named for them as tradition stated. The three clans lived in harmony for many moons. It has been much time since the new clans, RainClan and ThornClan were formed, many leaders have come and gone, no cat remembers a time when there was only one clan. |
